What is Makaton?

Makaton is a unique language programme that uses signs, symbols, and speech to support communication. It’s widely used in schools, healthcare, social care, and community settings to help individuals who have difficulty with spoken language.

Makaton makes communication more accessible for:

  • People with learning disabilities, autism, or communication difficulties
  • Children with speech, language, or developmental delays
  • Individuals living with dementia, brain injuries, or stroke

‘With over 15 years of experience using Makaton in practice, I am proud to now be a licensed Makaton Tutor. We currently offer both Level 1 and 2 Makaton training. My passion lies in making communication more inclusive for everyone, and I bring this dedication into every training session I deliver.
