Founder & Managing Director
Creative Confidence was founded by Kitty Short, a professional actress and former primary school teacher turned creative facilitator. At 3am one morning – inspired by the need to support her family and fuelled by years of performing arts and educational experience – Kitty had a spark of an idea: to build confidence in others through creativity. Kitty sought out those who often fall under the radar – individuals overlooked, unheard or underestimated.
What started as a bold idea has developed into a platform that delivers unique, uplifting workshops to people from all walks of life. From corporate poetry to brick-based therapy for those living with dementia, we create playful, engaging experiences that help individuals ignite their creative voice and connect with others.
Whether we are in a boardroom, a care home, or a community hall, our mission remains the same: To build confidence, connections, and joy through creative expression.
We work with schools, organisations, and communities – anyone curious enough to try something different. At Creative Confidence, we believe creativity isn’t just a talent—it’s a mindset, an emotional outlet, and a powerful tool for personal growth.
Kitty put together a perfect encapsulation of our event and turned a real feeling of community and much learning into such articulate words. It was brilliant to end the day with her poem and it was a way better summary than we would otherwise have achieved. How she managed to do that during the timeframe, I’m not quite sure, but clearly she thinks on her feet and can read the room super well.
